I am an individual who has journied down many paths in this lifetime. I have had an array of careers that have taught me so many things. I have two children and a wonderful dog. I absolutely love being in nature. Whether that be in the mountains, near the ocean, in the desert, in an open field, in a deep thicketed forest. I have a passion for puzzles. I find that the human body is one of the most fascinating puzzles. It is not just made up of muscles, organs, tissues, nerves, liquids, cells, etc. At its most basic feature and function, it is made up of energy. I also have a love for art, science, mathematics, linguistics, cultures, history, and anything that ignites my brain. I believe all of those things are interconnected just as we are all interconnected to each other. I have found through Massage therapy and reiki that I can have a clearer understanding of an overall picture of what is going on in with someone and their physical self. I can look at the anatomy, kinesiology, sociological factors, energetic factors, anthropological factors, and many other puzzle pieces that are making up an individuals world. The physical self is just as important as the energetic self. My philosophy, referencing my work, is that in order to function at our highest potential as a human species, we must bring equilibrium to the mind, body, and spirit. To have equilibrium, we must look at all the puzzle pieces and understand how they fit together so that we may be able to see the whole picture. My education includes: -Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from coastal Carolina community college (Jacksonville, NC) -Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (with a major in Sociology, concentration in Criminology, and a minor in Anthropology.) -Certification from Guilford Technical Community College in not only massage and bodywork but also a specialization in Neuromuscular therapy. -Reiki I, II, Master training in the USUI Tibetan system of Energy Healing underneath Kathy Williams and Susan Cales.
