Rick Halle-Podell is a licensed massage therapist and the founder of Massage Therapy of Oak Park, a practice he established in 1996 in Chicago's western suburbs. Before entering the massage field, Rick spent six years working in mental health, and he holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois, a Massage Therapy Certification from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, and a Master of Arts in Teaching. He has served the American Massage Therapy Association in multiple leadership roles and received its Meritorious Service Award. Rick specializes in migraine headache treatment, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, and chronic pain, with advanced training in myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, structural therapy, pregnancy massage, visceral manipulation, and Thai massage. He was honored by the National Institutes of Health as Lead Massage Therapist on a chronic pelvic pain research project involving several major medical institutions.
